NOTE: This section of the official National Park Service Stonewall National Monument website, which can be found here, has been replaced with generic visitor information and has eliminated the link to the site for the Stonewall Vistor Center nonprofit, where the majority of the historical information on the Stonewall Uprising can be found.
Stonewall National Monument was established as a unit of the National Park Service in the Greenwich Village neighborhood in New York City. It constitutes 7.7 acres, but Christopher Park on Christopher Street constitutes the epicenter of the park.
On June 28, 2024, the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center opened its doors to visitors. The visitor center will serve as the perfect start to a Stonewall National Monument visit.
The visitor center provides exhibits, interpretive programming, rest rooms, a retail space, and front desk where visitors can interact with park rangers and get their national parks passport stamps.
The visitor center is funded and operated by our partner organization, the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center. Click this link to learn more about our partners.
The hours of operation will be:
Tuesday - Sunday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
